I enjoy and am skilled in helping people gain clarity and confidence when facing change or uncertainty. I draw on my experiences across multiple sectors, from sport to the arts, construction, pharmaceuticals and professional services. I’ve built a reputation as coach, sounding board, facilitator and “critical friend” to senior leaders and their teams in both short and long-term engagements. For larger projects, I occasionally bring in experienced high calibre associates.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe most people can find their own solutions if the right environment is created.  My experience tells me that people are capable of far more than they realise and that coaching can unleash that potential and give clarity and confidence.  My style of coaching aims to help people make sense of their own jigsaw puzzle first rather than throwing my own pieces in straight away and confusing the picture. I’ll ask some pretty searching questions to help that sense-making.

Facilitation Approach

When you work with me to design your strategy day, team away day or learning event, first we’ll spend some time getting really clear on the purpose of the gathering, not just the category of “team away day”, “strategy day” or “review”. From there I can design and facilitate a session that fulfils that purpose.  My style is to check in with you regularly along the way, and with the participants in the meeting.  I can develop a great plan for and with you and also have the skill and experience to know how to flex that plan in order to achieve your purpose.

Longer Term Collaboration

If you are working through organisational change, restructure or the need to really get “under the bonnet” of issues which are getting in the way of performance, I can help. Whether it is a Board or a Leadership Team, I will help surface what really lies beneath the issues and get you into the conversations that need to happen, and the actions that need to happen afterwards. I pride myself on my ability to work in uncomfortable situations and name what others won’t.
